A Tribute to Pastor Glenn Kennedy

Pastor Glenn Kennedy lived as a devoted servant of the Lord Jesus, faithfully seeking His will throughout his life. He served with humility, integrity, and steadfast devotion, marked not by perfection, but by sincere obedience and a heart fully given to his calling. He was a loving husband to Sue Kennedy, a devoted father to seven children, and a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren.

Following his retirement as an Air Force pilot, Pastor Glenn continued a life of service by pastoring Kadena Community Church International—now Yomitan International Church—as a missionary in Okinawa, Japan. His leadership extended well beyond the local church. As a member and vice president of Christians in Action Missions International, he played a pivotal role in founding Asian Relief Medical Services, which has provided free medical and dental care to underserved communities in the Philippines and Cambodia since 1994. He also contributed significantly to the establishment of Latin America Relief Medical Services, ministering to communities in Colombia, South America.

Pastor Glenn’s ministry reflected a deep commitment to evangelism, teaching, discipleship, and spiritual encouragement. To many, he was not only a pastor, but a spiritual father. His congregation included U.S. military personnel and civilians stationed in Okinawa, local Okinawan residents, and international students from Ryukyu University. His faithful witness crossed cultures and generations, touching countless lives with the message of Christ.

Until his final breath, Pastor Glenn remained faithful to the Lord he loved. His legacy endures through the ministries he helped build, the lives he shaped, and the many who were strengthened by his wisdom, compassion, and godly counsel.
